Being a mom is a fast paced, hectic, sometimes chaotic glorious thing. We’re busy juggling our home, relationships, KID(S), and for some; a job outside the home as well. Between playdates, errands, and doctor appointments time for ourselves gets pushed to the side. However, throughout it all, we love it! I’m sure I can speak for all of us moms that we wouldn’t trade it for anything. That doesn’t mean mama can’t want to look good while doing it though. That’s why I’ve come up with a list of five products I use when I don’t have all that much time to get ready.
Stayin fresh, Stayin cool
One of my favorite products not even for when I’m in a hurry has got to be evian Brumisateur facial spray. You may be thinking this is just some water mist in a pretty bottle just so they can charge you a little more. However, it is so much more. Being compressed causes it to always be cool and refreshing. If you’ve experienced a Las Vegas summer oh boy, this stuff is a must have in those triple digits! It also sets makeup and is completely safe to spray throughout the day without worrying it’s going to run your mascara. They have travel cans available and a large size for home, I personally have one in all my bags so I’m never without.
Sun protection with some color
I never like to leave the house without having some kind of tint on my face. I have a lot of freckles and acne scars that I’m not to fond of. Blending out a full coverage foundation however requires time, and were working with very little of that. So I fall back on Garnier SkinActive BB 5-in-1 Miracle Skin Perfector. Now, I’m not saying you’re gonna slab this on and get the same results as say, Maybelline’s Superstay Full Coverage 24 hour foundation. (Sidenote: If you haven’t tried this foundation, DO! it’s amazing!) Though it does work well enough to fade out my imperfections to an unnoticeable degree to the outside world. I find that applying this with my bare hands as if I’m applying a regular lotion works the best. If I have a few extra seconds I’ll set it with a pressed power to give its coverage an extra boost. My fave, L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Glow. The matte option also works great!
Va, Va, Voom!
Lets talk lashes. In the most tightest of time crunches this has got to be the most important for me. I can do everything else and if I don’t do the lashes, it just doesn’t look complete. So it’s no wonder why, for me at least, I could get away with ONLY doing them and be satisfied. Now, I’m not talking false lashes that’s absurd, but getting the look of long and voluminous lashes in a pinch is just what were looking for. I took a leap with this product, it was sorta just an impulse buy last-minute. Girl, am I glad I did! Not only does this mascara give me exactly what I’m looking for and it hits a price point that’s to die for. ESSENCE The False Lashes Mascara Extreme Volume & Curl. This bad boy definitely defined my natural lashes beautifully. It is a thin formula so I find it works better if you scrape some product off the spooly. However, at a whooping $4.99 I’ll put in the little extra effort. The brush is curved, I line that curve up with my eyes natural curve and apply like normal from there. I fan out in each direction to get a fuller effect.
The natural look
Another aspect I don’t enjoy leaving the house without to often are my brows. Although, a look so sharp it can cut glass requires time, patience, and concealer. All things we don’t have or not trying to get into. This is where I opt for the natural look. Being blonde, it can be tricky to find one that actually shows up. Sometimes, it’ll look like I’ve applied nothing to my face however, if I was to bump up to a light brown its way to dark. This product I got in my IPSY bag a few months back. It’s become my go to unless I’m going out and want a more dramatic look. You can actually see the increase in fullness and the shade is just about spot on! Chella in beautiful blonde will have your brows looking good quick. Unlike with my pomade, I don’t outline my shape. I do quick little strokes starting on the inner/thicker side going outward to the tail.
Not by the hair on my chinny, chin chin
This last product isn’t makeup or anything that you apply. Recently I’ve been noticing more the little bit of peach fuzz around my chin and lip area. Of course, I don’t like this. With an infant, carving time out to go to the salon and get a wax is about as possible as me placing gold in the olympics. Which is why while strolling through Ulta I decided to give the Finishing Touch Flawless Women’s Painless Hair Remover a try. I’m so glad I did, it’s easily in the top ten most satisfying purchases I’ve made. I just turn the sucker on do a pass over or two in circular motions and good to go! It literally takes seconds, I even use it for right in-between my brows where it doesn’t grow in thick but the little fine hair definitely stand out with makeup. Its compact and portable, easy to clean out too. Highly recommend even just to use in times where you usually do have time to get waxed but just forgot or missed your appointment. As you know, life with kids can be unpredictable.
Add a little color to the cheeks
Now, all that’s left is to sweep a little bit of blush on those cheek bones to give a little bit of flush to the face, and you’re set! With that and these five products you can achieve a full look that doesn’t break the clock, or the bank as all of these products are under $20!! Double whammy!
